Our swimsuit recommendations

Finally, pool and beach season is upon us.  Since we don't make our own swimsuits yet, we'd like to recommend a few brands that work well for the Peter Manning man.

We look for ones that are well-made, have functional pockets, dry fast, look great and can also work with a shirt to grab lunch. Make sure the inseam is not too long. If you tend to dress conservatively, swim trunks are an opportunity to add a dash of color or a bold pattern.

It's worth spending more for high quality fabrics and construction. A great pair can last for years. The following fill our requirements and very high standards:

Orlebar Brown makes great suits with prints that go from classic to crazy but are always super stylish. We love the Bulldog cut (pictured) for the PM man.

Solid & Striped is a relatively new company, but we know the founder Isaac Ross, and he is as committed to quality as we are. We love the vertical stripe on this their Classic cut, which is, most importantly, not too long.

Vilebrequin started the whimsical print fad for men's and boy's swimwear, but they also have some nice solid color options. They have a cult following and we know men who collect them. Their suits are of the highest quality and you can spend all day in them. Here's a turtle print we love.

A less expensive option but stylish and fun is the J.Crew 6.5" Tab Swim Shorts. You can pick up a couple of these and switch them up as they come in solids, patterns and stripes.
