The recent Sunday New York Times T magazine had an article with pictures about Sissinghurst Garden in England. I have had the privilege of seeing Sissinghurst twice, once when the white garden was in full bloom. It is hard to describe the beauty of it. Well, some of it is obvious, the flowers are beautiful, the grass is greener than green, but you feel something when you are there that is indescribable. Everything quiets and you are enveloped in a kind of mystical world. Everything else falls away. The article, written by Adam Nicholson, a descendent of the creators of the garden, says that it is one of the great works of art ever. And it is.
